Foro Recursos Humanos has spoken to Cornelia Roeskau, Chief Commercial Officer of Globality Health, about the coverage of medical tests due to the situation created by the pandemic of COVID-19.
Roeskau admitted that Globality Health will cover all the diagnostic tests for its assured clients, provided that are prescribed by their doctors and are medically necessary.
According to this, she declared that “whenever an assured go to the hospital o medical consultation with symptoms of the illness (mostly fever, rough cough and breath difficulty), all the tests done will be considered procedures to confirm or deny the contagion of Coronavirus”.
For this reason, Globality Health, will cover the total expenditure when the doctor prescribes the diagnostic test, according with the recommendations of the local authorities, including people at high-risk exposition.
As Globality Health’s Chief Commercial Officer explains, “only then, the analysis in a laboratory will be considered as medically necessary, as well as for first tests or for the following tests, if the first one is positive”.
On the contrary, Cornelia Roeskau assures that “we want to remind that, if an assured client does not show any symptoms and asks for the test, as they are medically necessary, its health assurance will not cover it and, therefore, neither will the costs be reimbursed”.
Foro Recursos Humanos has also asked about the following expenses of the preventive quarantine or the auto-isolation. Concerning this, Globality Health’s directive has answered that the assurance “does not cover any cost associated to those situations, because they are preventive measures, included the use of masks”.
